NEON DESERT CO.LAB PRESENTS:
A creative conference celebrating house music through community, art, education, and entertainment.
SEPTEMBER 10 — 2022
DAY: UMOCA > NIGHT: FICE GALLERY & BEER BAR
Hold on to your horses!
Neon Desert Co.Lab is lassoing a wide range of musical, cultural, and creative luminaries with the purpose of furthering dialog and discovery around House—in the truest spirit of the dance floor.
This year, we center on Detroit's rich House (and Techno) music history, its black roots, and industrious creative communities for inspiration via Salt Lake City’s evolving cultural core.
Neon Rodeo is a celebration of thought and movement expression, a place for cross-cultural exchange, and mutual admiration. Through listening, learning, and dancing together, we hope to positively shape the future of this place we call home.
Scroll for more info, and don’t skip the Pop-Up Shop and Information pages, where you can find a full schedule of events, map of locations, and more. Space is limited.

LADYMONIX
Frizner Electric, Detroit
LADYMONIX is a producer and DJ based in Detroit, known for turning out dance floors with her deep disco and house sets. She has performed at nightclubs across the country from New York to LA as well as toured overseas in Europe. Originally from Baltimore, she grew up listening to Baltimore club and house classics mixed on late-night Baltimore radio stations in addition to hearing disco and nineties pop at her parents' lavish basement parties. Her early exposure to these genres laid the foundation for her path in music, which led her to move to Los Angeles in 2004 and launch her career as a DJ. Spending over a decade in L.A.’s underground scene shaped her sound and provided the inspiration in her production work, now a groovy and heavily sampled sound that pulls from jazz, funk, disco, boogie, and more.
Since moving to Detroit in 2016 and establishing her own record label Frizner Electric two years later, LADYMONIX has established herself as a fixture in Detroit’s electronic music scene.

We don't understand – but we see and acknowledge the unique challenges faced in today’s world by our BIPOC, trans, and non-binary community members. In particular, we owe queer, trans, and black communities a debt of gratitude for creating House and Techno music culture as it exists today.
